Waitrose, Tonbridge had spent a lot of money replacing the roofing material and the air conditioning units on the roof of their store.
Within a matter of days the pigeons found a comfortable new home and started sheltering under the air conditioning units which provided warmth and a safe place from predatory birds.
A full survey was carried out to ascertain the best approach to protecting over 5o metres by 15 metres of roof space whilst still allowing access for contractors to access the machinery on the roof.
Kent Bird Control Services installed a netting system across the whole expanse broken down into manageable sections strengthened by supporting wires and barrel tensioners. Over two thousand net connectors were used to keep the bird control netting firmly in place.
